With an engine capacity of 2237 cc. occasionally you can allow yourself to rev the engine to the maximum and feel like a racer.

A drive that requires special driving skills and getting used to in the case of driving with a different type of drive. For so much low price cars are considered budget since you just get a car to drive and nothing more, but in some cases this is the only purpose without any beauty. You don't need more to get around the city. Perhaps the slogan for such a vehicle is not “The miser pays twice.”

Turgeneff 17.01.2011 : “When buying this car, two goals were pursued: to provide my father, who lives most of the time in the countryside, with a tractor car (both to the community center for a party and to the barn for shit) and to get a thrill from off-road forays. The UAZ didn’t fit because after talking with the UAZ owners, I decided that sometimes I wanted to lie under the car with wrenches in my heart, but not in reality. So closer to the topic. The design of the car has not crossed the 1990 mark. Donors: Toyota engine, mass-produced 25 years ago, now installed on loaders, very simple, impossible to overheat; Isuzu chassis, interior too, in my opinion. It’s pleasant on the go if you’re not a racer and don’t cross the 110 km/h line. More is possible, but the noise of the engine is annoying and you feel sorry for it. But off-road it is king, only the long wheelbase (length 5.15 m) gets in the way. Plug-in drive + lowering in the transfer case. An 8-ton manipulator, stuck in the mud, was being pulled onto a cable. Gasoline consumption when driving no more than 100 km/h is 9 liters. Installed gas equipment - generally good. The smelly interior plastic and shitty performance are annoying. Although for the same money the UAZ is generally made of iron inside. Bottom line: if you want a full-fledged SUV, but don’t have the money, Salor is a great option. Used Toyota Land Cruiser for 500 thousand. brought to the point of rottenness is not considered unless you are a millionaire masochist. What is the strength in, brother? - in the Chinese. In ten years we will remember my words. Those who want to object can check with experts about how in the mid-90s everyone was making fun of the Korean auto industry, but now in Europe Hyundai has surpassed Toyota in sales. Wow.
It can be said that there were no malfunctions. The bracket on the clutch pedal broke. The fastening nut had become loose and I was too lazy to tighten it. I found some metal in the trash. profile and a grinder cut out a new bracket, replaced it in an hour. The generator circuit burned out at 30 t.km. It was soldered from a Mitsubishi for 600 rubles. (new gene 8000 rubles). While riding in the summer of 2010, out of stupidity in the forest, the radiator blew and I realized it about five kilometers later. The result is engine overheating with severe head distortion. New radiator - 5,000 rubles, repair kit - 800 rubles, grinding of the head - 1,300 rubles, replacement work 1 day and 10,000 rubles. There are no problems with spare parts (in Moscow). The repairability according to the mechanic is excellent. Everything is simple. Taking into account harsh operation, the car reached 70,000 km. I completely forgot: when the generator died, a tug came, but couldn’t get up in front, they pulled the ass and twisted the steering column in the mud, because... The engine is turned off and, accordingly, without power steering. The repair was carried out using a sledgehammer. I wanted to replace it but changed my mind because... nothing bothers me."

Eugenio is gone 19.11.2008 : “Very happy with the car. Truly a car for home and family. For almost two years of operation it has never failed. The cross-country ability is excellent. The interior is like a sauna in winter and cool in summer. No complaints. If only the back sofa could be made softer and everything would be just EXCELLENT! The car stood under the house on the street for two years and there was not a single rust, like just from the assembly line. Gasoline consumption at 90 km/h - 9 liters. per 100 km, about 9.5 liters of gas. So our basins are just resting. In terms of price - the price of our new basin, in terms of quality and comfort - 100 points ahead of our basin. There is silence in the cabin, music, warmth, light and no flies biting. In short, the car is SUPER! For its class in terms of price and reliability, I think it’s the best option. There are, of course, differences from my second car - the Chevrolet-Suburban in terms of comfort, but in terms of efficiency and maintainability, the Sailor comes first.
Not with any."

Sergey Dergalev 25.03.2008 : “Excellent value for money, for little money I got a full-fledged rogue. The car is convenient for traveling and transporting goods. The interior is very spacious even for rear seat passengers. Additional advantages of this car include full power accessories, air conditioning and the presence of a removable luggage compartment cover. The suspension is soft, but in moderation, I am very pleased with the reliability of the chassis, it will remain intact even after large holes.
No problems during operation. Maintenance does not require large financial costs.”

Great Wall Sailor is a new generation four-door, five-seater pickup truck. The car features fashionable and flowing shapes, crystal headlights and a new European-style grille. The car is built on the Hover base, and is structurally similar to the Isuzu TF.

Sailor is a harmonious combination of aesthetics and practicality. The spacious and comfortable interior can easily compete with a passenger car in its comfort: leather seats, power steering, power windows, a rear-view mirror with an electronic display, air conditioning and a powerful audio system are available. The impressive interior space is decorated in cream or coffee tones.

The car is available in two versions: with a standard double cab (Regular) and an extended double cab (Long). The latest version differs from the basic one in a more spacious body (355 mm longer than the standard one) and a wheelbase that is also 355 mm longer than the standard one. This pickup truck is the perfect combination of style and practicality.

Great Wall Sailor is equipped with a reliable and economical 2.3 liter engine with a power of 105 hp, average fuel consumption is 9 l/100 km. This petrol engine with multi-point electronic fuel injection is installed under license from Toyota. The engine is proven, unpretentious, easily digests 92-octane gasoline, develops high power with low fuel consumption, while maintaining good environmental parameters. It does not create noise or vibration, which ensures a cozy and calm environment in the cabin. The power unit pulls the almost two-ton pickup truck well, showing noticeable revival when reaching 2500 rpm.

A diesel unit is also available. It is economical, consumes little fuel, and has good environmental parameters. It has significant power - 57 kW, with practical noiselessness.

Security is another trump card in the Great Wall Sailor deck. The brake system with a hydraulic vacuum booster ensures stable control and driving comfort. Brakes: front – disc, rear – drum. Three-point seat belt fastening makes driving easy, comfortable and safe. The load-dependent ABS system prevents lateral sliding and skidding.

The front suspension is independent two-support with telescopic springs, the rear suspension is with asymmetrical leaf springs with variable stiffness.

The Great Wall Sailor is a vehicle for those who frequently travel both on city and country roads, ideal for transporting small loads. Modern design, spacious and comfortable interior - these are the distinctive properties of this representative of the Great Wall brand, which has already become famous on the Russian market. All Great Wall models come with a 2-year or 50,000 km warranty.

Great Wall Sailor, 2006

I approached the choice of car thoroughly, before that I had a VAZ-14, I needed a large car to transport cargo and passengers at the same time, because after buying a house outside the city, the choice arose whether to carry passengers or cargo. I looked at many models, looked at Fiat Doblo, Peugeot Partner, but they were all single-wheel drive, and since in the village, very often the roads become directions, an all-wheel drive car was needed. Money was limited - the choice fell on Great Wall Sailor. At first the car was “dull”, but after running it in, the car drove better. An empty car makes a lot of noise in the back, but when it’s loaded it’s already a “sofa”. After 10,000 miles, the right front shock absorber “flyed”, changed the cylinders of the “kung” cover, the relay “flyed” (soldered and put it back), changed the lubricant in the steering gear for the CV joint, because in cold weather the steering wheel turned very hard, no more breakdowns. Now about the good sides of the Great Wall Sailor: I loaded 600 kg of cement, the car only sank a little, the weight did not affect the dynamics and speed. Control - it holds the road up to 120 km/h wonderfully, you don’t feel the ruts, but I don’t drive anymore, although I accelerated it to 140. Cross-country ability is like a tank, during the entire period of operation I planted it only once, but that was this winter in the deep snow, and I installed low-profile tires for the winter. At the moment the mileage is 24,500 km, I am happy with the car.

Advantages : endurance, permeability.

Flaws : no money for this.

Great Wall Sailor, 2007

The car was purchased to be a wild working bull. The operation is terrible - cargo transportation, dirt, snowdrifts almost every day from the date of purchase, and long-distance fishing trips to the Volga delta. For the money, there are no competitors to Great Wall Sailor. I started it up in any frost, only to get stuck on it - I don’t remember either, but they pulled out more than a dozen “jeepers”. Yes, it doesn’t “fry” on the road, it doesn’t shine with beauty, it doesn’t have heavenly comfort, but it also has different goals. The rear trunk of the Great Wall Sailor is huge. The most serious failure was the gearbox, but they also “raped” it to the fullest, which is surprising that it lasted up to 70 thousand km. There was a “shifter” - he drove off the road: the rear bumper was broken (the glass, the rest of the body - everything was intact). The car is not for the city - it was almost always driven outside the Moscow Ring Road.

Advantages : reliability. Withstands harsh conditions.

Flaws : comfort is weak. Gearbox failure.

Great Wall Sailor, 2008

I have been the owner of Great Wall Sailor for 2 years now. I switched to it after the “long” Niva (Vaz 2131), which I had for 4 years. I was pleased with the Niva; the car was reliable and comfortable. But I wanted something more comfortable and reasonable in terms of price-quality ratio. The choice fell on Great Wall Sailor. After the purchase, I realized that I had made the right decision. Compared to our automobile industry, this is “heaven and earth.” Pros: switching to all-wheel drive on the go, fuel consumption, low maintenance, good throttle response. The only thing I had to do was put a backing on the rear number plate, since the niche in the bumper does not correspond to its size (no longer).

During the two years of operation of the Great Wall Sailor, there was a problem with the wipers and with the handle for opening the upper door of the cargo compartment. And this is with daily driving on city streets in any weather and up to your ears in mud and salt. Over the entire period, there were several chips on the rear fenders behind the wheels and one chip on the hood from an oncoming car. Yes, after the first maintenance I refused the service - it was expensive and of no use (they fill in the cheapest oil). Well, the second winter period of operation has ended.

Advantages : Switch to 4WD while driving. Acceleration. Easy to maintain.

Flaws : minor problems.

Great Wall Sailor, 2008

Convenient for travel, both long distances and around the city. Yes, the Great Wall Sailor’s body base is a little longer, almost 5 meters in city traffic, but it’s not agile in motion. But there is an advantage: on unpaved surfaces we move like a “tank”, it’s a pleasure to drive, even with all-wheel drive, the Great Wall Sailor drives confidently over any hillocks and other rocky slopes. Is it comparable to the (UAZ Patriot) in terms of technique and manner of moving on hard-to-reach rocky surfaces? In extreme conditions in any weather, a reliable and faithful “horse” does not break down so often. Practically “indestructible”, good in hot weather - there is air conditioning. In a word, he helped me out more than once, and you will be pleased for many years. My Chinese since 2010, it fell into the right hands and I advise you to buy it only for inexpensive money.

Advantages : reliable. Brutal. Hardy. Passable. Comfortable.

Flaws : build quality. Noise insulation.

Great Wall Sailor, 2006

I just recently purchased a Great Wall Sailor, and have already driven 2000 km on it (including hauling). Well what can I say, I like it. At first it was unusual with such dimensions, but I sort of got used to it. In general, the car leaves a good impression. Both on the highway and in the city. Yes, the engine is a bit weak, but overall not bad. The wheels, to be honest, are not very good; in my opinion, it would be more comfortable to ride on standard ones. Oddly enough, I managed to get stuck on the Great Wall Sailor, almost in my packing place. I messed up myself, but it seemed to me that I would have gotten out faster in a Chevrolet Niva (but not a fact). It's smooth on the highway, but the acceleration isn't great. Although I'm used to the dynamics. From time to time, a noise disturbs me, as if somewhere the gears cannot engage and are beating against each other. I haven't figured out the reason yet. So far I have found one drawback in the car, this is where to put the tool kit. The niche under the rear seat is too small. Overall, I'm satisfied and don't regret the purchase.

Advantages : permeability. Versatility. Convenience.

Flaws : I couldn’t find where to put the tool. Dynamics.

The Great Wall Sailor pickup truck is the second vehicle in this class from the Chinese manufacturer. In many ways, it repeats its predecessor, the Wingle pickup truck, but this time the designers took into account the shortcomings of the first-born, and also applied some technical solutions that are more in line with modern requirements.

The appearance of the Sailor pickup truck - its contours very organically combine retro and modernity. The front end is quite modern. The wings, even at first glance, have a streamlined shape. A rounded bumper in the same color as the body enhances the feeling of power of the car. The front optics - although not expensive, are large and stylish - in combination with round fog lights inscribed in the bumper, emphasize the courageous “face” of the pickup truck.

The stern of the “pick-up-sailor” also looks very modern - the elongated lights have a chrome edging, and the bumper slightly protruding beyond the overall dimensions with built-in turn signals and a fog lamp corresponds to all ideas about modern design.

The retro style is clearly visible when you look at the Great Wall Sailor from the side - the flat roof and doorways with right angles seem to take us back 20 years to the past. But form is form, and the convenience of these doors is impossible not to appreciate after getting into the car. From the ground - and straight into the chair, without clinging to the opening and without hitting your head on the ceiling. The metal footrest, which stretches the entire width of the front and rear doors, also facilitates entry.

The loading platform is no less convenient, the low height of which makes it possible for a small person to load the car without the use of any lifting devices. The huge body, quite consistent with the idea of a “farmer’s” car, can be covered with a removable kung, which is available for an additional fee.
Access to the Great Wall Sailor body is closed by a folding side with two convenient latches on the edges. The cargo compartment is large, even in comparison with classmates, in size. The bottom is covered with a rubber mat, under which there is a spare wheel recessed into the bottom.

The overall interior of the Great Wall Sailor salon is thoughtful, comfortable, functional, but the design of the early nineties model somewhat spoils the impression. One might well expect it to have a radio receiver with a knob for tuning to the station’s frequency, but that’s not the case - the eye stumbles upon a very modern CD-MP3 radio with a USB connector and a slot for a memory card. The cabin features a neutral gray interior. It seems that for the first time Chinese designers condescended to the preferences of Europeans and abandoned the light beige color scheme traditional for the Celestial Empire. The front seats are quite comfortable, leaving enough room so that your legs do not get tired on a long trip. The only thing the Great Wall Sailor lacks is seat depth, but the comfortably concave backrest makes up for this. The rear sofa also leaves room for passengers' legs, and it is comfortable to sit on, despite the fairly raised floor. But there is nowhere to go - the structures of the massive car frame pass under the floor.
The number of controls is minimized to the limit. The first thing that catches your eye is three large buttons located right in the middle of the dashboard. This is how the designers imagine the transmission switch should look - the buttons correspond to rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and all-wheel drive with a reduction gear ratio. Everything else is quite ordinary, except, perhaps, the rearview mirror. If you have a kung car, this part becomes completely useless, but the designers gave it additional functionality - it displays the air temperature in the cabin and outside, there are open door alarms and parking sensors. The gear lever is located very conveniently, but its lever is a little long - you have to reach the limit of your arm's length to reach fifth gear.
If you are the happy owner of not only a pickup truck, but also an iPod device, then a surprise awaits you - a special adapter connector located in the depths of the glove compartment.

If we talk about the technical characteristics of the Great Wall Sailor, then under the hood of the pickup truck there is a 2.2-liter gasoline engine with a power of 105 horsepower (at 4600 rpm) and a torque of 190 Nm (in the range of 3-4 thousand rpm), which manages to move more than a one and a half ton car (curb weight 1700 kg) with a speed of at least 120 kilometers per hour. The engine is designed for A92 gasoline, and is quite suitable for chip tuning with the transition to fuel with a higher octane number. A five-speed manual transmission will allow the driver to move in the style to which he is accustomed. The gear ratios are selected with overlapping ranges, so that no shocks or jerks are expected when changing gears.
It should also be noted that a test drive of the Great Wall Sailor showed that even at speeds of over a hundred, the pickup holds the road perfectly, is easy to control and does not promise surprises for the driver. The brakes - front disc and rear drum - provide good control when braking, which is especially important for cars without ABS.
The front suspension is independent torsion bar, so the driver and passengers on uneven roads do not risk flying their heads into the ceiling. Some suspension stiffness becomes less noticeable as speed increases. The rear dependent spring suspension allows you to transport significant loads.

The Great Wall Sailor's cross-country test drives are impressive even when performed on regular road tires. If you change it to an off-road one, the pickup will give a head start to many “jeeps” when traveling through wetlands and deep snow cover. The 4L transmission mode (all-wheel drive with low gear) allows the car to climb up to 40%, even on wet dirt roads.

And finally, about the price of the car. And the price of the Great Wall Sailor pickup truck (2010) is the same (as well as the equipment) ~ 445 thousand rubles.
